About me
I design and develop technology with the goal to build an open financial ecosystem on top of Bitcoin.
I co-founded Interlay, where we built a decentralized network enalbing everyone to use Bitcoin for more than just payments, on any blockchain - fast, censorship resistant, without trusting intermediaries.

Research
Since 2015, I have worked on different Bitcoin-related topics, mainly revolving around security and interoperability. In 2022 I earned a PhD in computer science from Imperial College London. You can find my list of publications online, and a selected list of interesting works below:- A first step towards non-custodial Bitcoin bridges.
- A small trick to make (cross chain) light clients much more efficient.
- Impossibility of cross-chain communitcation and a framework to evaluate & build secure bridges.
- Faster, off-chain payments for Ethereum-like blockchains ("commit chains")
- Bribing attacks on Bitcoin, launched from other blockchain networks.
- Why decentralized mining pools are broken.
- How to build truly trustless and decentralized (Bitcoin) bridges.
- Why merged mining is both cure and curse.
